# FrameSketch

> FrameSketch is a video annotation sketchpad for animators: load a local video, then draw strokes, shapes, sticky notes and comments directly on your footage, frame by frame. Projects export as `.fsk` files.

FrameSketch is a video annotation studio: brush, pencil, highlighter and eraser tools, rect/ellipse/line shapes with drag modifiers (Shift for perfect or axis-snapped shapes, Ctrl for drawing from the center or snapping lines to 15°), multi-select, text labels, sticky notes and comment markers, per-layer frame-by-frame drawing, onion skinning, an adjustable frame rate, pressure sensitivity, a frame-accurate timeline, and dockable panels. Projects (with multiple scenes, each with its own video and drawings) save automatically as you work. Cloud sync is optional.

## Key facts

- Runs in the browser (PWA) and as native desktop apps for Windows (MSI/NSIS) and Linux (.deb, .rpm, AppImage, Flatpak). macOS is not yet available — the web app works there.
- Signing in with an email (or Google) is required to use the app; accounts are verified by email.
- Projects are tied to the account that created them — on a shared device each account sees only its own projects.
- Frame-accurate drawing synchronized to the hardware video decoder.
- Cloud sync is optional, on by default once signed in.
- Free accounts store up to 3 cloud projects; paid plans raise the limit.
- Projects export as `.fsk` files, optionally password-protected.
